Aquatimer

Ever since the collection’s conception in the 1960s, lovers of sub-marine worlds and unexplored depths have known that the Aquatimer is perfect for them. However, an Aquatimer is not just reserved for the realm beneath the surface of the sea, once ashore it does an equally excellent job on your wrist. The brand has developed a convenient system for changing straps and bracelets which, for example, enables you to quickly and easily replace a rubber strap with a steel bracelet.

It all started in 1967 with the Reference 812, a diver’s watch with an internal rotating bezel which was resistant to a water column of 200 metres, impressive for the time. In less than twelve months this limit of water-resistance had been pushed even further by the Reference 816, this time to 300 metres (30 bars), thus setting an example for its diver’s watch contemporaries. All current models are standardised to this 30 bars water-resistance but in the past there have even been such aces boasting an amazing 200 bars resistance.

Something more…

A revamping of the collection in 2014 gave birth to a striking titanium watch, the Deep Three, featuring two highly practical mechanical depth gauges.

It indicates the diver’s current depth and also recommends the maximum depth that can be safely reached during the given dive.

Collection highlight

The collection’s smallest model, Aquatimer Automatic Edition “Expedition Jacques-Yves Cousteau” withstands a pressure of 30 bars and is equipped with a screw-in crown a rotating bezel featuring the Safe Dive system and a rubber strap that can be easily replaced by a more elegant variant if the occasion so requires. This makes use of the patented strap-exchange system that allows you to smoothly change straps in a matter of moments. Residing in the steel 42 mm case is an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. Both the hands and the indexes are coated with a luminescent layer for excellent underwater readability.
