Clé de Cartier

The designers were given a simple task - to create a watch inspired by the perfect circle, a refined and proportionately perfect timepiece utterly in character with the Maison Cartier. The brand’s main design elements are also used in this collection, namely the blue Roman numerals on a white dial, the blue gem on the crown and the blue hands.

It combines the art of subtlety and restraint, which guarantees a timeless look for this modern timepiece. The watch, with a guilloche dial, comes in a 31 or 35 mm case and is a decorative piece of jewellery, moreover, the men’s versions have a diameter of 40 and 41 mm. Inside there is an automatic movement beavering away and for the larger models this powerhouse is Cartier’s in-house movement from the Swiss manufactory in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Something more…

Clé means key in French and is a reference to this model’s crown. The collection has watches made of quite unusual materials such as palladium, as well as models reflecting the zenith of watchmaking with mysterious mechanisms or a tourbillon. The Cartier’s hidden inscription at the foot of the Roman numeral VII is a signature guaranteeing the watch’s authenticity and quality.

Collection highlight

We chose a model with an excellent price/performance ratio. A watch with a 35mm steel case (ref.: WSCL0017) equipped with an automatic movement from the Cartier workshop. The Calibre 1847 MC has a power reserve of 42 hours and is endowed with a date window at the aperture set at six o'clock. On top of this the watch is made all the more attractive with a fully integrated, burgundy, alligator leather strap.
