Clifton Club

Welcome to the club of sport watches which, historically, allies itself with motorsport legends such as land speed record holder Burt Munro, Indian motorcycles or fast cars like the 1960s Shelby Cobra. Until recently, limited editions associated with souped-up engines featuring a chronograph were the most sought-after models in the Clifton Club collection.

The characteristic features of these watches are a round case, a striking dial with the Baume & Mercier logo at 12 o’ clock (provided the dial has enough space, which is not always the case as far as the chronographs are concerned). Among the most highly desired models today, are the bronze three-hand timepieces which change their appearance over time – by simply wearing them they acquire a singular patina. Moreover, these watches are finished off with appealing dial colours and water-resistance to a depth of 100 metres (10 bars). Toiling inside is an automatic calibre with a 42-hour power reserve.

Something more…

Apart from cases made of bronze, steel is a theme that runs throughout the collection. Steel forms the backbone to the second time zone model which is sure to be much appreciated by ardent travellers. The model, featuring a black dial and blue bezel, is available with a steel bracelet or a leather strap. Clifton Club is Baume & Mercier’s sole sporty collection.

Collection highlight

Historically, limited editions associated with fast engines tended to be the collection’s most successful. Commanding respect today, is the bronze Clifton Club 10503 model featuring a green dial, a date window at 3 and luminescent hands and indexes. The logo, adopted by the brand in the 1960s, is in the shape of the Greek character Phi and appears at position 12. Apart from green, you will find blue and red also score well as dial colours.
