In 1858, the H. & C. Robert company was founded in Villeret, Switzerland, later on it became known as Minerva. Since the Minerva acquisition in the early 2000s, Montblanc has changed its course. It is no longer simply a brand; it has become a traditional manufacture with a rich history and deep roots, ones it has fully adopted.
The Montblanc 1858 line is dedicated to the long history of Minerva and, in its own highly original way, interprets the manufacture’s pioneering watches and chronographs from the 1920s and 1930s as these had all been adapted to the extremely demanding requirements of mountain climbers’ expeditions. The collection includes extremely reliable chronographs, limited edition collector’s pieces as well as timepieces with the innovative GMT function with the distinctive two globes.
