Over the ninety years of its existence, the rectangular Reverso watch with its reversing case has become a true phenomenon in the world of watchmaking. Hundreds of models of various sizes for both men and women have been designed, some featuring mechanical movements, either hand-wound or automatic, whilst some of the smaller ladies’ watches are powered by quartz movements.
The story of Reverso begins in 1931 when British Army officers in India requested a watch that would be tough enough to withstand their polo matches. The dial of the watch was smoothly concealed by reversing the case, to reveal a back that fully protects the face from possible mallet strokes. Inspired by the Art Deco style and equipped with a reversing case, the Reverso watch changed the world of watchmaking forever. Today, the Reverso collection offers simple, traditional models as well as watches with complications, including the highly popular Duetto version with two dials.
