The Panerai brand separated the Submersible collection from the Luminor model series, although the shape of the case and the typical semi-circular crown protector are based on this original series. It has thus been given the space to be a separate diving line, which numbers several dozen models with case sizes of 42, 44 and 47 mm.
Panerai refers to its Submersible watches as “survival instruments” and for good reason as most Submersible timepieces are waterproof to 300 m (30 bars) but some of the higher end watches from the collection are waterproof to an incredible 2,500 metres (250 bars). In its Submersible collection Panerai uses new high-tech materials as it aims at creating robust, yet very light watches that don’t weigh much on your wrist, are pleasant to wear and, of course, are more resilient than steel pieces.
