Ronde Louis Cartier

There is a long story behind the creation of this modern collection, one that dates back to 1937. The round watch with an elegant design bears a typically “Cartier” signature. The distinctive Roman numerals conceal the secret Cartier emblem, an inscription which is part of the letter V forming the number seven. The dial shines as soon as it is in contact with daylight, the beautiful guilloche completes the overall impression of utter luxury. What’s more, it has a beaded crown set with a sapphire cabochon and a round minute scale reminiscent of a railway track and sleepers.

The 24-hour scale is more or less decorative, as the watch does not indicate a second time zone. Those models with a diamond bezel or the decorated timepieces with a brilliant set dial have a diamond in the crown. Smaller models are fitted with a quartz movement, whilst the larger models have mechanical ones.

Something more…

Cartier also presented the Rotonde de Cartier collection. At first glance, it does not differ greatly from the Ronde, however, you will notice a difference in the shape of the case, Ronde has rounded lugs, whilst on the Rotonde they are straight with clearly defined edges.

Ronde Solo

The Ronde Solo line has retained its perfectly honed, classic elegance and it draws its inspiration from the Ronde Louis Cartier. As always, you can expect the hallmark Roman numerals, blue hands and a minute scale. The series also has a steel version with several case sizes. The difference, however, is in the crown, it is not equipped with a real sapphire, instead it has a synthetic spinel. The hands on the pale dial have a different, sword-shaped form. What is more, it is possible to choose a steel band for the watch or opt for straps in various colours.

Ronde Croisière de Cartier

The distinctive bezel, inspired by historic divers, is the main visual element that distinguishes this minor line from other Ronde watches. It has a 42mm case and is also available in steel; is powered by an automatic in-house movement. The main benefit is increased water resistance, up to 100 metres, which means that the watch can easily withstand swimming. As always, the crown is fitted with a gemstone, in this case it is grooved, making it more masculine as well as more practical.
